Here is Day 5 of the Nature Challenge. Today is a Black and White picture of Mt. St. Helens in Washington State.
Went to a local creek by me to try to get some long exposure pictures. I wanted to try to smooth (blur) out the water but keep the rocks and leaves in focus. I feel these two pictures did the trick. One in color and one in black and white.
This photo was taken at the Rotary Botanical Garden located in Janesville, WI. It was a foot bridge over a small pond located there. Loved the reflection of the bridge in the water.
Took this picture in Lake in the Hills, IL while I was out for a walk. Always like to take my camera with me because the location I’m in is close to a nature preserve and I’m always on a lookout for animals. I was able to see the moon coming up and was able to get this picture.
The background was originally blue because the sun had not set just yet, I was able to switch this picture to Black & White and that ended up making the background black.
Take with a Canon 7D, Canon 100-400mm lens at 400mm, ISO-400, f/5.6, 1/320 shutter speed.
Cloudy Skies in Lake in the Hills, IL
Here is another view of the Theater in Gary, IN this view is looking from the first row toward the back of the theater. Again due to the low light in the Theater I did another HDR. In the picture you can see one of the fellow photographers I was with.
This is an Abandoned Theater located in Gary, IN. The theater was very dark, so I used HDR to take the picture and took three pictures at different exposures and blended them together.
Man made water path that you can walk on the rocks along the water. Taken at the Japanese Garden in Kildare, Ireland.
Taken with a Canon 7D, Canon 28-135mm Lens at 33mm, ISO-320, f/5.6, 1/100 shutter speed.
A small creek along one of the trails at Multnomah Falls. A wonderful place to go see.
Taken with a Canon 40D, Canon 18-55mm lens at 48mm, ISO-400, f/5.6, 1/200 shutter speed.
A wonderful sunset taken near Rantoul, IL
Taken with a Canon 40D, Canon 18-55mm lens at 32mm, ISO-400, f/22, 1/100 shutter speed.
