Read more...Hello everyone. Well it's been a while from our last post. Has been a busy summer, and fall. So wanted to post this shot I got of a baby Cedar Waxwing that was in our yard. When I first saw the chick I thought it was a baby Robin because I knew of a Robin nest nearby so I grabbed my camera and my chair and thought I would get some shots of the parents bringing back some food for it. I took a few pictures of the baby by it self calling for food. After zooming into the picture I realized it was a baby Waxwing, and that was one bird I was really wanted to get pictures of this year. Read more...Had a great day by a Great Horned Owls nest. Female was with the three babies, and the male was in a near by tree resting before the night hunt to bring food for the female and the babies. Here are a few shots of them: Female Owl with her Babies I counted three babies Male nearby in a tree was sleeping most of the time but woke up to prune itself and check me out then went back to sleep. Read more...Hello everyone! We had a chance to drive out the Mississippi River at Lock and Dam 14 to take some pictures of Eagles along the dam. The Dam in located just South of Le Claire, IA. It's a very popular photographer spot and will get crowed with arm to arm photographers: There is normally one person who would be there throwing fish into the water. This attracts the eagles to come down and grab the fish out of the water: It's a fun place to go to watch eagles and other birds in the area. It's not just for photographers and birders, but also for the kids-they enjoy watching them also....
